The Social Group was started in 1997 by Andrew Haglington. No-one knows the social sector of the economy better than we do ...because we invented it! When we started this groundbreaking new project, no-one else had ever done anything like this before, not specifically running a large programme of social events in this way. Social networking is our idea.
Our vision of social networking was not only to enable people to connect, but to provide a ready-made "group of friends" for people to go out and socialise with. By the end of the 1990's, this was already a massive success, and over the years since, we have raised money for numerous charities and good causes, as well as helping many thousands of people to make friends and enjoy a great social life!
